Description
Apex nitellopsidoid, with shallow periapical groove, apical nodules rounded, moderately thick. General shape ovoid with apex rounded, projecting above apical level. Spirals generally convex, smooth. Base tapering, sometimes forming well-marked basal column. Basal pore small, basal funnel absent. Basal plate multipartite, as wide as thick, not visible from exterior. Size small. Immature specimens reminiscent of Aclistochara. [The recognition of the basal plate structure shows that Songliaochara can no longer be considered a synonym of Nodosochara.]
